The L&J Boxall Invitational Charity Golf Day will be played on Friday 21 May 2027 at Wellshurst Golf & Country Club, with a 9am shotgun start — a day of laughs, memories, camaraderie and fundraising, in support of Dementia UK and in memory of Lynn & John Boxall.

This charity golf day is being held in loving memory of Lynn and John — two people who meant so much to those around them, and who shared a deep love for the game of golf.
For John, golf wasn’t just a pastime; it was a passion. It brought joy, connection, and countless cherished moments with family and friends. Lynn was there alongside him, supporting and sharing in those special times. Together, they created memories that will always be treasured.
Sadly, John was diagnosed with dementia, a condition that affects millions of individuals and families. Watching someone you love face dementia is incredibly difficult, and it leaves a lasting impact on everyone close to them. This event is not only a way to remember John, but also to honour the journey he went through and to stand in support of others facing similar challenges.

Through this event, we are proud to support Dementia UK, helping to provide specialist care and support for families affected by dementia.
Above all, the day is about remembrance, connection, and doing something positive in the face of loss — keeping Lynn and John’s memory alive in a way that reflects the joy they brought to others.

Prizes for the winners and runners-up, plus nearest the pin and longest drive.
Afterwards
A meal to finish the day as Lynn and John would have wanted it — everyone round one table.
What £65 coversCoffee and a breakfast bap on arrival, eighteen holes, lunch afterwards, and the on-course competitions — with every penny of profit going to Dementia UK.

The day runs on Countback. Every group keeps their card on a phone, and each hole opens with a digital course card — the yardage, the par, and the sponsor of that hole.
Eighteen groups play your hole. Each one sees your logo, your name and a line of your own when they get there — and a QR code they can scan straight through to your website. Your board still stands on the tee; this sits alongside it.
